Miss Aimee Brown

Miss Brown was born in Marinette, Wisconsin.  She graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, WI with a BA in Elementary/Middle School  Education and Mathematics minor.  She has taught in Waterloo, IA; Antigo, WI; Long Island, NY; and Tampa, FL all in Lutheran schools teaching a variety of middle school grades and subjects.  She has taught at Concordia since 2006.

Mrs. Linda Coverston

Mrs. Coverston truly loves teaching her PS class. She has taught at CLS from 1968-77, 78-81, and then rejoined the faculty in 1993. 

Ms. Edwina Covington

Ms. Covington joined the faculty at Concordia in  2007. She teaches Grade 6-8 Grammar and 7th grade Geography.

Mrs. Edith Damron

Mrs. Damron has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Elementary Education (Math major) from Concordia University, Seward, NB (1972) and a B.S. degree in Business Information Science from the University of West Florida, Pensacola, FL (1981). She worked for the United States Environmental Protection Agency as a computer programmer (1980-1988). She has been a Lutheran School Teacher at Immanuel Lutheran in Houston, TX (6 years) and Concordia Lutheran in Hyattsville, MD since 2000.  Mrs. Damron is  married  to her husband, Craig, They have three children: Jeffrey (Univ of MD), Philip (Dematha HS) and Laura, graduating from CLS in  2008. Mrs. Damron also attended elementary school at St. John's Lutheran School in Corpus Christi, TX. She BELIEVES in the mission of Lutheran schools!

Dr. David Falkner

Dr. David Falkner is the Principal of Concordia Lutheran School. He became principal at CLS in 2003.   He has served as a Lutheran principal since 1982, been a public school educator (teacher and counselor) for 8, and prior to that was Active Duty Air Force for 5 years. He served as an educator in New York, New Orleans, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Tucson. He is a retired Air National Guard Lt. Col with 23 years service in the fields of Affirmative Actions, Equal Opportunity, Race and Human Relations Education, Substance Abuse Identification, education, and counseling, and personnel/administration. Dr. Falkner is married and his wife, Margie teaches second grade at Concordia. He has a daughter, Kalissa, who is a school teacher in San Diego. His son, Allen, is a graphic artist and Manager of a Footlocker store in Manhatten, NY. 

Mrs. Margaret Falkner

Mrs. Margaret Falkner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ (1970) and a Master of Arts in Reading also from the University of Arizona (1979). When her husband, David Falkner was serving in the US Air Force, she taught in Dayton, OH and also in Ft. Worth, TX. Upon moving back to Tucson, she taught both in the public schools and at her home church Faith Lutheran Church in Tucson. Having taught for over 25 years, she has now taught in every grade except 1st as they traveled from Tucson, to California, to Louisiana, to New York and here. Mrs. Falkner has been married to Dr. David Falkner for 34 years, they have two grown children, Kalissa (married in August '05) a 3rd grade teacher in San Deigo, CA and Allen who completed his degree in Graphic Design and works as a Manager with Footlocker in New York. When asked, "Where has been your favorite place to live?" her answer will always be, "Right here!"

 

Mrs. Vicki Fanara

Mrs. Vicki Fanara studied music at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, but graduated in 2000 from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education.  She taught music at Washington Christian Academy before coming to Concordia in 2006.  She has sung in several choirs, and as a soloist, teaches voice lessions, has conducted an adult church choir and is currently a children's choir director at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Bethesda, MD.  She is married to Phil, a professor at Howard University, and they have three children:   Lena, who is married, Philip Daniel, and Abigail.  Her passions (besides her family) are Christian education, and teaching children about God's wonderful gift of music. She has taught music at CLS since 2006. 

Mrs. Mary Gillis

Mrs. Mary Gillis joined the faculty at CLS in 1997.  She is the  sixth grade homeroom teacher and seventh/eighth grade literature teacher. She is a former graduate of Concordia, as are her two children, Kelly and Michael. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS degree in secondary education and taught at High Point High School for four years. She then resigned to be a "stay-at-home" mom. A lifelong member of Trinity and Redeemer congregations, she is a member of Redeemer's Senior Choir and Bell Choir. She and her husband, Jeffrey, reside in Glenwood, Maryland.

Mr. George "Skip" Hall, Jr.

Skip Hall is the Kangarookrew's leader (third grade), keeper of guinea pig, Cuddles, parish musician at Trinity Lutheran Church, alumnus of Concordia, a Washington, D.C. native, teacher here since 1972.  His wife teaches at Ascension Lutheran School and he has two daughters,  Melissa & Robin. He is  a lover of class field trips, crabs, trolleys, Macs, NPR, and VW Vanagans.

Mrs. Robin Jackson

Mrs. Robin Jackson  truly brings energy to PS-grade 8 as she teaches Physical Education.  She  enjoys Liturgical Dance.  Mrs. Jackson has taught at CLS since 2004.


Pastor Rudolph Kampia

Pastor Rudolph Kampia is from Germany. His family came to the U.S. as refugees following the Second World War. His family settled in Philadelphia, PA where he graduated from Dobbins Tech with a diploma in Machine Design. He worked a few years as a Draftsman and Machine Designer and then felt called into the Ministry. He received an AA degree from Concordia College, NY and a BA degree from Concordia Senior College, Fort Wayne, IN. In 1973 he received the Masters of Divinity Degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. He served congregations in IL, OH, and PA before coming to Redeemer in Hyattsville, MD in 1986. In 1970, he married Judy (Drebes), a 1968 graduate of Concordia University in River Forest, IL. They have four adult children and two grandchildren. Pastor and Judy love hiking and have hiked in all 50 states. They also love gardening and classical music.

Mrs. Kristie Maddox

Mrs. Maddox studied graphic design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and at Alfred University in Alfred, New York.  There she met her husband before moving to the Washington DC area and working in design the design industry, first as a designer and eventually teaching at George Washington University.  In 2004 Mrs. Maddox joined the staff of Concordia as the art teacher.  In her free time, Mrs. Maddox enjoy's spending time with her family, practicing yoga and pilates and working on her own landscapes or modern, expressionistic paintings.

Miss April Mandel

Miss Mandel was called to CLS in 2006 to teach first grade. She has taught third grade and Kindergarten in Cincinnati, OH for six years before moving to Hyattsville.  She enjoys her first graders and introducing them to new things  each day. 

Mrs. Margaret Pickett

Mrs. Margaret Pickett is the librarian and office manager  at the Longfellow campus.  She has been on staff since 2002.   

Mrs. Lisa Reavis

Mrs. Reavis is from the lovely "Garden State," New Jersey. She graduated from Concordia College, Bronxville, New York, with a BA in elementary education and from Bowie University in Bowie, Maryland, with a MA in reading education. She and her husband, Mike, have three children, two girls and one boy. All of her children presently attend Concordia. Mrs. Reavis has taught at Concordia since 1989. 

 

Kimberly Schiebel

Mrs. Kimberly Schiebel teaches the Preschool  4s class. She is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Towson University in Baltimore with a BS in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Schiebel has taught at Concordia since 2000.

Pastor Peter Schiebel

Pastor Peter Schiebel is Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Rainier, Maryland. He was born and raised in Washington, DC. He graduated from Concordia College in Bronxville, New York, with a BA in Religious Studies and from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a Master of Divinity degree. Pastor Schiebel has served Trinity and Concordia since 1997.

Mrs. Sharon Sinkoske

Mrs. Sinkoske grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She graduated from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois, with a BA in Elementary Education in 1969. She received a MA in Elementary Education from Bowie State University. Mrs. Sinkoske's entire teaching career has been at Concordia and she has taught both 5th and 6th grades. Mrs. Sinkoske and her husband, Charles, reside in Beltsville.

Mrs. Martha Steinbach

Mrs. Martha Steinbach graduated from Concordia College in Bronxville, New York. She has a Lutheran Teachers Diploma and a BA in Education. This is her eighth year of teaching. Mrs. Steinbach taught three years of fifth grade in Baltimore, Maryland, at Calvary Lutheran School.  She is excited about teaching 8th grade American History apart from her 4th graders.   Mrs. Steinbach enjoys teaching and serves on the Lutheran Schools' Week celebration committee.  She joined the faculty of CLS in 1999. 

Mrs. Debbie Vornbrock

Mrs. Debbie Vornbrock loves Spanish and sharing the language with  4th-8th graders.
