Mrs. Linda Coverston

Mrs. Coverston truly loves teaching her PS class. She has taught at CLS from 1968-77, 78-81, and then rejoined the faculty in 1993.

Mrs. Edith Damron

Mrs. Damron has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Elementary Education (Math major) from Concordia University, Seward, NB (1972) and a B.S. degree in Business Information Science from the University of West Florida, Pensacola, FL (1981). She worked for the United States Environmental Protection Agency as a computer programmer (1980-1988). She has been a Lutheran School Teacher at Immanuel Lutheran in Houston, TX (6 years) and Concordia Lutheran in Hyattsville, MD since 2000.  Mrs. Damron is  married  to her husband, Craig, They have three children: Jeffrey (Univ of MD), Philip (Dematha HS) and Laura, graduating from CLS in  2008. Mrs. Damron also attended elementary school at St. John’s Lutheran School in Corpus Christi, TX. She BELIEVES in the mission of Lutheran schools!

Dr. David Falkner

Dr. David Falkner graduated from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, in 1970, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education (English/Speech). He entered the Air Force as a 2nd Lt. until Dec. 1975, at which time he transferred into the Arizona Air National Guard and then later into the Calif. ANG where he retired as a Lt. Col in 1994. He was an Elementary and Junior High Guidance Counselor in Tucson Unified School District from ‘76-’82 until he became 6th grade teacher/principal at Faith Lutheran School, Tucson (82-’86): Principal Lutheran School of the Foothills, LaCrescenta, Calif (86-’90); Principal and 7/8 grade teacher at Ramona Lutheran School, Ramona (San Diego), Calif. (`90-`95); Principal St. John Lutheran School, New Orleans, LA (`95-2001); Principal Trinity Lutheran School, Long Island, NY (2001-2003); Principal at Concordia Lutheran School since July 2003. Dr. Falkner has a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Texas Christian University, Ft. Worth, TS; Colloquy from Concordia University, Irvine, Calif; and PhD from Vision Christian University, San Diego, Calif. In Leadership in Christian Education. Married tin 1970 to Margaret Falkner (2nd grade teacher) with two children: daughter Kalissa (3rd grade teacher in Murietta, CA) and son Allen (Sales Representative, New York Life Insurance Co, Long Island, NY). 

Mrs. Margaret Falkner

Mrs. Margaret Falkner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ (1970) and a Master of Arts in Reading also from the University of Arizona (1979). When her husband, David Falkner was serving in the US Air Force, she taught in Dayton, OH and also in Ft. Worth, TX. Upon moving back to Tucson, she taught both in the public schools and at her home church Faith Lutheran Church in Tucson. Having taught for over 25 years, she has now taught in every grade except 1st as they traveled from Tucson, to California, to Louisiana, to New York and here. Mrs. Falkner has been married to Dr. David Falkner since 1970, they have two grown children, Kalissa (married in August ‘05) a 3rd grade teacher in San Diego, CA and Allen who completed his degree in Graphic Design and works for New York Life Insurance in New York.

Mrs. Mary Gillis

Mrs. Gillis received her Bachelor’s Degree from the Univ. of Maryland and then taught at High Point High School for 4 years. In 1997 she began teaching 6th grade and Literature for 7 and 8 at Concordia Lutheran School. She is an alumnus of CLS. She is married: husband Jeff, daughter Kelly and son Mike. They attend Redeemer Lutheran Church. She loves drama and sponsors Student Council at the Longfellow campus.

Mr. George “Skip” Hall, Jr.

Skip Hall is the Kangarookrew’s leader (third grade), parish musician at Trinity Lutheran Church, alumnus of Concordia, a Washington, D.C. native, and a teacher here since 1972.  His wife teaches at Ascension Lutheran School and he has two married daughters,  Melissa & Robin. He is  a lover of class field trips, crabs, trolleys, Macs, NPR,VW Vanagans, and being a grandfather.

Mrs. Robin Jackson

Mrs. Robin Jackson  brings energy  to our students K-8.  She teaches Physical Education and helps to encourage students to stay physically active for a healty lifestyle.  She also enjoys Liturgical Dance.  Mrs. Jackson has taught at CLS since 2004.

Mrs. Isabelle Logossou

Ms. Isabelle began her career with Concordia working in Extended Care, Summer Camp and as a classroom aide in Preschool. She has assumed greater responsibilities and education to now be Summer Camp Director, Extended Care Director, and Teacher of the PreSchool 4 class. Ms. Isabelle offers a great depth of understanding of children and their needs through her training and practical experience.

Pastor Rudolph Kampia

Pastor Rudolph Kampia is from Germany. His family came to the U.S. as refugees following the Second World War. His family settled in Philadelphia, PA where he graduated from Dobbins Tech with a diploma in Machine Design. He worked a few years as a Draftsman and Machine Designer and then felt called into the Ministry. He received an AA degree from Concordia College, NY and a BA degree from Concordia Senior College, Fort Wayne, IN. In 1973 he received the Masters of Divinity Degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. He served congregations in IL, OH, and PA before coming to Redeemer in Hyattsville, MD in 1986. In 1970, he married Judy (Drebes), a 1968 graduate of Concordia University in River Forest, IL. They have four adult children and two grandchildren. Pastor and Judy love hiking and have hiked in all 50 states. They also love gardening and classical music.

Mrs. April Lenhart

Mrs. Lenhart was called to CLS in 2006 to teach first grade. She has taught third grade and Kindergarten in Cincinnati, OH for six years before moving to Hyattsville.  She enjoys her first graders and introducing them to new things each day.

Mrs. Margaret Pickett

Mrs. Pickett serves as the Office Manager and Librarian at the Longfellow Campus for grades 4-8. She began teaching World Geography to 7th grade in 2008. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland. She has worked at Concordia since August 2003. She, too, is an alumnus of CLS, along with sisters Mary and Marlene.

Mrs. Lisa Reavis

Mrs. Reavis came to Concordia Lutheran School in July 1989 to teach Grade 1 directly from Concordia University, Bronxville, NY. She taught first grade until 1999 and then returned to teach Kindergarten at CLS in 2001. She received a Masters Degree in Reading Education from Bowie State University. She is married to husband Mike and has three children: Michael, Jr; Emily, and Grace. Her ministry at Concordia has offered many additional responsibilities in her years here.

Ms. Carlandra Rossow

Miss Rossow is a graduate of Valparaiso University, Indiana. She is a resident of Beltsville, MD, and has taught at Zion Lutheran School, Bay City, MI; and then 5th grade for 4 years at St. Paul Lutheran School in Glen Burnie, MD. Most recently she was teaching at Augsburg Academy, Beltsville: K-2-religion and music; 3-7 Science; 4-7 Language Arts; 3-4 math, etc. she brings many strengths with her and is an accomplished Violist.

Pastor Peter Schiebel

Pastor Peter Schiebel is Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Rainier, Maryland. He was born and raised in Washington, DC. He graduated from Concordia College in Bronxville, New York, with a BA in Religious Studies and from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a Master of Divinity degree. Pastor Schiebel has served Trinity and Concordia since 1997.
